While Logos can be used "out of the box" without any customization, the Program Settings area provides options for customizing different parts of the software to best meet your requirements. These settings affect the behavior of Logos as a whole, rather than individual books or tools.
When you change a setting, it takes effect immediately apart for those cases (such as changing the display language) where a restart of the application is required. Most of the settings are Yes/No toggles that take instant effect. You do not need to save the changes, but a restart is required for some changes to take effect (e.g. changing the language). For more information on any setting, hover your cursor to the right of the option and then hover it over the help icon that appears.
You can easily customize your Logos Settings. The quickest way to do this is from the toolbar's more actions menu .
Some of the most frequently changed settings are described below.

Internet
If you want new books or software and dataset updates to be delivered automatically, set Automatically Start Downloads to Yes and set both Download Between options to be Midnight.
If you want updates to be delivered automatically but only between certain times, adjust the start and stop times.
If you want to totally control when software and dataset updates happen, set Automatically Start Downloads to No.
With this setting, if you wish to apply software updates when they become available you will need to enter the command update now into the Command box, and select that option.
If you have Download New Books set to Yes, new and updated books will be delivered as they become available. If you set that to No, the books will appear in your Library but will need to be manually downloaded to your computer if required.
For more information on Cloud Books and manual book downloads, see this article.
Show Community Ratings controls whether or not your Library books will display ratings provided by the wider Logos user community.
Show Community Tags controls whether or not your Library books will display tags provided by the wider Logos user community.
Note: The Encyclopedia tag shown in both cases above is the Logos categorisation of the book and will always be present.
Text Display
- Adjust the font and spacing settings to change how books are laid out and text is shown (except for text size — see Accessibility above)
- Prefer Minimized Toolbars - with this set to Yes, the secondary resource toolbar will stay collapsed until you expand it, and automatically collapse when the panel is no longer active
-
Double-Click and Triple-Click Action settings allow the user to modify what happens when they either double-click or triple-click a word. Options are Look up, Search, Search Inline or Select Word
-
Text Selection determines text selection behavior

- Prefer Lemmas determines whether the underlying lemma or the translated word in reverse interlinear Bibles is used when performing Look Up and Search on Double/Triple Click and other times
Transliteration Format

Advanced Options
- Enable Hardware Acceleration is a Windows-only setting and can be helpful to address some video issues and to enhance performance.
- Enable Logging allows you to capture errors with Logos and submit them for support. The Open Folder link takes you to the folder containing the log files.
Note: For more help, see our help article on enabling and submitting log files.
Hidden Books
- You can hide books you do not want to appear in your library.
Note: This does not delete the books and it is different from removing books from your local library using Cloud Books. - Contact Logos Customer Support if you want to return a purchased book.
