Link to a Book

Logos makes it easy to share a link to an exact spot in any of your books. All you need to do is open the Share tab and choose either Copy link or Copy special.

Copy Logos Links

URL

Copy link (Opt+Cmd+C on macOS or Ctrl+Alt+C on Windows) creates a URL you can share like any other link in email, web applications, and other general use-cases. URL links open your web browser to the specified location on app.logos.com. If you have Logos installed on your device, you can also choose to open Logos to that location.

Logos4

From the Copy special dropdown, you can find the option to Copy location as A logos4 link. This is a link type that opens your Logos desktop app directly. When you select this option, the link copies to your clipboard in the following format:

logosres:esv;ref=BibleESV.Is45.22

Note: Some web browsers run an internet search instead of recognizing the local link. If your web browser does not prompt you to open Logos, try Google Chrome or paste the link in a text program and click the link to open it.

With this link, you can also create a custom shortcut in Windows or macOS.

  • Windows: Right-click on your desktop, click New, select Shortcut, and paste the Logos link on your clipboard in the entry field.
  • macOS: Paste the link into a web browser, press Enter, and cancel the prompt. Highlight the link and drag the icon to your desktop.

Add a custom icon to the desktop shortcut to easily identify it later.

  • Windows: Set the shortcut icon in the shortcut’s Properties settings (right-click > Properties > Shortcut tab > Change Icon…).
  • macOS: Copy a new icon to your clipboard (open an image in Preview, press Cmd+A, and then Cmd+C) and paste it over the current icon (right-click the desktop shortcut > Get info > click the icon in the top left-hand corner to highlight it, press Cmd+V to paste the new icon).

Copy Location As

When sharing a link to search result or to a particular tool in Logos, you can choose from five sharing options in the Copy location as section of the Panel menu, the two mentioned above and three others:

Click any option to save the link to your system clipboard. You can also quickly copy a link to your clipboard with a keyboard shortcut: Opt+Cmd+C on macOS or Ctrl+Alt+C on Windows.

Note: Links you create are linked to your active position. Logos will remember your link choice the next time you copy a location.

HTML: Copy an HTML-formatted web link.

The HTML option is ideal for embedding on web pages.
