All Logos resources feature the option to read the text aloud using the system narrator or, in some resources, a recorded human narrator. Here’s how to access and use the feature.

Note: System narration is disabled on some resources at the publisher's request.

  • Pause iconand Play icon stops or starts narration without closing the media player bar.

  • The progress and elapsed time in the chapter (or section)

Note: Elapsed time is based on 1x speed and does not change when the reading speed is altered.

  • Click 1x to change the narration speed from 1x through 1.4x, 2x, and .75x.

Change Narrator

For resources with a custom narrator, such as the LEB (New Testament) and ESV, you can switch between the human and system narrator.

  1. Open the Bible's Tools tab.
  2. Click Audio Control - Volume High icon Read Aloud.
  3. Select a human narrator or the System Narrator (the option of using a human narrator is only available for the ESV and LEB).

    Choose Narrator

Note: Selecting Show word by word indicator activates a small gray dot that synchronizes with the narration. This option is only available when using "custom voices" (i.e. not the system narrator) and is therefore limited to the ESV and LEB. When reading in other Bibles, an orange circle appears briefly indicating the start of each new verse.

The Logos mobile app can read your books to you and this article will show you how to enable this  feature and adjust how it operates.

Note:This works for most books but not all.

Tap the audio icon at the top of your book to start audio playback. This will open a small panel at the bottom of the book showing some simple controls providing the ability to stop the audio playing, to rewind and to pause the audio.

Swipe up on the panel to show more controls - including:

  • Options to move to the beginning or end of the track
  • Options to move to the next sentence - in either direction
  • Access to the book's table of contents allowing you to select a different section of the book
  • Ability to adjust playback speed
  • Ability to select different voices

To adjust playback speed, tap the speed icon and select your required playback speed using the slider.

To select a different voice, tap the voice icon and select your preferred voice.
