Fixing problems with Windows Installer keys for Logos

Problem

You may receive the following errors when attempting to update or reinstall Logos Bible Software:

  • "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable."
  • "Another version of this product is already installed.  Installation of this version cannot be continued. To configure or remove existing version of this product, use add/remove program in control panel."

Solution

These errors occur because the Windows Installer did not remove all the Logos entries from your registry or those registries have been corrupted. You can use the Microsoft Fix-it Tool to remove the registry entries that are causing the problem.

If Logos is not yet installed, skip to Part 2.

  • Right-click the Logos icon and select "Properties".
    • If you do not have Logos on your desktop, right-click the Logos icon on your task bar, and right-click where it says "Logos Bible Software." From there click "Properties".
  • Click the "Open File Location" button.
  • Move the Data, Documents & Users folders to your Desktop.
  • Delete the remaining folders, System, Install, etc..

Part 2: Using the Microsoft "Fix it" Tool
