How do I use the Summarization Sidebar?

Print Friendly and PDF

If you've ever wondered whether a book or article would help you answer a question or address a specific topic you're interested in, the new Summarization sidebar is here to help. Now, Logos provides the ability to create an AI-generated summary of an article - either in a book you're reading or as a result of a Smart Search.

Note: This summarization capability is available to subscribers through AI credits.

When generating a summary in a book, the article picker allows you to choose what "level" in the book's hierarchy you want to summarize – either the article itself or higher heading levels containing the article you are reading.

Note: This feature is available in all subscription tiers.

While the functionality on the web app and desktop is the same, the user interface is slightly different. Please select the tab that matches the platform you are using or interested in.

To summarize an article:

  1. Open the Tools tab in the book's toolbar and select Summarize.

Note: If you have previously used the summarize tool in this resource, the last summarized article may appear in the sidebar when you open it.

  2. Select the article you want to summarize. In the case of a Bible, this is typically a chapter.
