This article outlines how to add transcripts to your sermons after uploading them to Logos Sermons.
Transcribed sermons include the full, interactive and searchable text of the sermon as well as enabling closed-captioned playback.
Skip ahead to:
Add a Transcript
You can transcribe any of your published sermons or while uploading a new sermon (so long as these sermons include an audio file).
To transcribe a sermon, scroll down the sermon page, select the Transcript tab, and click the Transcribe sermon audio button (if you don't have any transcription credits, you can purchase some as show below. Once this process is completed, your transcription will be live. Your transcribed sermon will show up more frequently in search results because searches will scan the actual text of your sermon—not the title alone.
Note: Depending on the size of the sermon, it may take a few minutes for the transcription to display.
Purchasing Transcription Credits
To purchase credits to use with Logos Sermons, click the Purchase sermon transcriptions link which will open a browser to the Logos.com site where you can purchase bundles of transcription credits. Add the one you want to your cart and checkout in the normal way to add the credits to your account.
You can also purchase transcription credits through Proclaim, and this is outlined here.
Note: Credits you purchase in Proclaim are only available in Proclaim, as they are tied to your presentation group. If you purchase transcripts through Logos Sermons, though, you can use them with Proclaim or Sermons, as they attach to your personal Logos account.
Interact with your transcript
Once you have transcribed a sermon on Logos Sermons, you can read the transcript at the same time as listening to the audio, enable closed captioning and even edit your transcription to ensure its accuracy.
Read the transcript
Select a word in the transcript by clicking it. This will cause the audio to advance to that point in the sermon and begin playing. You can follow along with the closed captioning in the video (at the top of the sermon page) or the audio feed below. A red indicator in the transcript marks your place in the sermon.
Enable closed captioning
To enable closed captioning, select the [CC] indicator in the video or audio feed. Your transcript’s text will accompany the recorded sermon audio and video.
Edit the transcript
To edit the transcript, click the Edit transcript button which will take you to the transcript editor.
If you click a word, the audio will start playing at that point, making it easy to compare the text with the actual audio. Double-click a word (1) to edit it and press Enter on your keyboard when you are happy with a change. Click Done (2) when you have made all the required edits.
Click Save to apply the edits to the transcript.
