In Logos, Clippings are the digital equivalent of using index cards for note-taking. Clippings allow you to extract and store excerpts from any resource to use later. Like notes, clippings consist of multiple individual clippings inside a single Clippings Document. However, unlike notes, clippings are optimized for exporting and sharing.

Click the Documents icon . Then, click New > Clippings. Give your Clippings Document a descriptive name by typing in the title field.
Open a new Clippings Document in Logos

Open a resource. Then, select the text you want to clip. You have several options for adding the selected text to your clipping:
You can add the selected text to your Clipping Document by clicking Add clipping in the Clippings panel.
You can right-click the selected text and select Add a clipping in the Context Menu (make sure that Selection is selected in the left pane). This may expand to display a list of the available Clipping Documents you can add the new clipping to.
You can also drag and drop the selected text into the Clippings panel.

Logos creates an individual clipping within your Clippings Document from the text you added.
Click the resource abbreviation at the top left of the card to open the resource to that location in a new panel.
Click the Info icon
at the bottom right of the card to bring up the bibliographic info for the source of the clipping.
You can format the text of your clipping by using the toolbar at the top of the Clippings panel.
You can organize your clippings by:

Adding tags
-
Adding notes
-
Dragging and dropping to rearrange clipping cards in any order.
You can create a bibliography from your Clippings Document by clicking the three vertical dots on the top right of the Clipping panel and then selecting Save as Passage List or Save as Bibliography.
To print or export your Clippings Document:

Click the three vertical dots
on the top right of the Clipping panel and then select Print/Export.

Click Print to print the document, or choose from the export options (Copy to clipboard, Rich Text Format (Word, etc.), and otheres).

Note: To print or export just the bibliographic citations, check the Bibliography only box on the left.

To create a clipping on Logos mobile, follow these steps:

Select text in any resource.
To select more than one word, tap and hold until blue handles appear. Drag the handles to complete your selection.

In the Insights Panel, swipe the options below highlights to the left and choose Clip.

Add notes and assign a document.
You can add text in the notes field to provide further insight into your clipping. At the bottom, select a Clipping Document.

Note: By default, your most recent Clipping Document is selected. To add your current clipping to a different document, tap the current Clipping Document and then choose another document, or choose New Clippings Document and give it a title. When finished, tap Done to return to your open resource.
To access existing Clipping Documents, tap the Study tab , expand Notes & Documents, select Clippings, and choose a document.
Note
Note: While viewing your list of Clipping Documents, you can tap the three dot menu on the right of the document to delete the entire document. Keep in mind, this will also delete all the clippings inside the document.
Each clipping displays as a card within the document. Tap any clipping to view and edit its contents.
